The driver of a pickup truck was taken to a hospital Wednesday morning for minor injuries after rolling his vehicle on Honeycutt Road near the Rancho Mirage neighborhood.

Maricopa police spokesman Ricky Alvarado said the man was traveling west on Honeycutt Road and struck a black-and-yellow striped warning sign positioned near a bridge where the road curves.

The man went off the road, overcorrected the truck and ended up flipping the vehicle, Alvarado said.

Alvarado did not know the reason why the driver went off the road. He did not have the man’s exact age, but said he was born in 1984.

The man was taken to a hospital to be evaluated.

The police department sent out an alert around 11 a.m. that Honeycutt Road was closed. Police volunteers blocked off Honeycutt Road from White and Parker Road to the Rancho Mirage neighborhood. The road was closed for about 40 minutes.
