Elite Shutters nominated for ethics award

Elite Shutters & Blinds is doing business the right way, say its customers. The Eloy-based business, with a home-based Maricopa office, has been nominated for the second year in a row for the Better Business Bureau’s ethics award.

“It is a great honor to be nominated for this award,” said Dave German, the company’s owner. “It is very rare for a window-covering firm to receive an ethics award.”

German was notified by the BBB two weeks ago and now must begin the application process, which includes a 115-page application, plus 40-50 letters from customers about how Elite has established ethics standards in the window-covering industry. The company has until Feb. 26 to complete the application.

Once all the applications are turned in, the BBB will make its selections for the finalists on April 5 and announce the winner at a banquet dinner May 12. Last year, the Elite Shutters beat out nearly 250 companies to be named runner-up for the award.

“It was a huge surprise to find we were nominated again,” German said.
