The Fall Follies horse show will be held Saturday, Oct. 11, at 10 a.m. at the Thunderbird Fire District arena in Maricopa as a benefit fundraiser for the Equine Eden Rescue Center.

Registration for the various classes opens at 9 a.m. Entry fee for each regular class is $5; entry fee for the Jackpot classes is $10 each.

The Thunderbird Fire District is sponsoring Fall Follies, with rosette ribbons for the top four contestants in each class donated by Arby’s restaurant in Casa Grande.

Classes are open to all breeds. All equines, big or small, are welcome at the Fall Follies show. Classes will include: Halter, Showmanship, Liberty, Lunge line, English, Western, Trail, Driving and some fun classes such as Egg & Spoon, Ride a Buck and Costume Race. The show will also have three Jackpot classes, which will pay back 60 percent of the entry fees. Those specific classes are English Equitation, Western Equitation and Trail.

The Thunderbird Fire District Arena is located at 12365 N. Ralston Road in Maricopa (see map photo). Thunderbird Fire District will be running a concession stand during the show, and all proceeds from it will benefit this small, but vital, fire department.

The show committee is looking for individuals and businesses to sponsor the various classes at the show. The cost for sponsoring regular classes is only $10 each, while the Jackpot classes are $100 each.

For your generous sponsorship, your name will be put on a poster that will be posted at the show, announced before and during the class you sponsored, published on our Website and in all press releases announcing the winners of the show. If you sponsor a Jackpot class, organizers would love for you to send a representative to present the winner’s check. For more information on sponsoring a class, email [email protected] or call (520) 568-9315.

Equine Eden Rescue Center is a recognized 501(c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and welfare of abused, neglected and unwanted Appaloosas and Appaloosa cross horses. Although the rescue is focused on Appaloosas, we do not turn away any horse in need, if we have an opening.

We provide a safe environment for horses that have endured starvation, neglect and physical abuse. Each horse receives medical attention and daily loving human contact. We strive to rehabilitate and/or retrain each horse in the hopes that we can locate responsible, caring and loving homes. Appaloosas unable to be adopted will live out their lives at Equine Eden or a certified foster home. Our goal is to give each horse a second chance at life, never having to endure starvation, neglect or abuse ever again.

Thunderbird Fire District and Equine Eden Rescue Center look forward to seeing you all at the show. More details on the show are available on the Rescue’s Website, http://www.equineeden.org/ or by calling (520) 568-9315.
