The Food Band and Resource Center, F.O.R. Maricopa (formerly the Community of Hope Food Bank) is helping local families in need during this holiday season.

F.O.R. stands for Food, Opportunity and Resources. This season F.O.R. will be giving out food boxes and toys, thanks to help from community sponsors like California Pools, Global Water, Oasis Life Church, Community of Hope Church and the Salvation Army, to name a few.

If you would like to help with donations of new, unwrapped toys or non-perishable food, please drop them off at the Maricopa Chamber of Commerce office (on Hathaway next to the Post Office) by 4 p.m. on Dec. 20. Monetary donations will also be gratefully accepted to be used to purchase toys and food items.

On Friday, Dec. 21, at 11 a.m. there will be a wrapping party at the Chamber of Commerce office. Volunteers are needed to help wrap the toys for local area children.

F.O.R. is also in need of turkeys, hams or roasts for the holiday food boxes. If you would be able to donate a meat item, call (520) 251-0226 to arrange pick up.
