Funeral services will be held for Casa Grande Police Sgt. Tate Lynch on Thursday, Nov. 1, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 1100 E. Trinity Place in Casa Grande.
Lynch, 36, was seriously injured during a SWAT team training exercise last Thursday (see related story). He was participating in a rappelling exercise when he fell approximately two stories from the Pinal County Detention Center in Florence. He was airlifted to Scottsdale Osborne Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries later that evening.
A memorial fund has been created to assist Lynch’s family. Those who would like to make a financial donation may do so at any Wells Fargo Bank under Sgt. Tate Lynch’s name. The account number is 8453628300.
A seven-year veteran of the Casa Grande Police Department, Lynch was promoted to Sgt. in 2004. He is survived by his wife and three children.
