Residents were evacuated from their homes earlier today due to a natural gas leak on Taft, south of McDavid. They were allowed back in their homes at approximately 1:10 p.m.
“Southwest Gas in on the scene and the leak will be repaired today,” stated Assistant Fire Chief Wade Brannon.
There were no injuries or persons needing medical attention due to the gas leak.
The gas line was punctured due to construction in the area. This construction was unrelated to the gas line.
