Girl Scouts learn at annual Thinking Day

Where can you go to visit and learn about eight countries in one morning?

Last Saturday morning approximately 85 girl scouts and 20 volunteers, representing eight troops in Maricopa, gathered at Santa Rosa Elementary School to do just that at their annual Girl Scout Thinking Day.

Each troop put together a display of one county, including traditional food and games. After the opening ceremonies, which included a parade of flags, troop members visited each booth to learn about the country, sample its food, play a traditional game and receive a stamp in their passport booklet.

The countries on display this year were the United States, Switzerland, Egypt, Mexico, Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany and Australia.
