Guess what, Maricopa! It’s time to get loud once again with some hometown pride. The beginning of the school year marks the beginning of the planning for one of this town’s biggest celebrations – Maricopa High School Homecoming! This year Homecoming Week will start on Sept. 25.

We are extending an invitation to all community helpers, leaders, organizations and families that wish to be involved in the planning and execution of a huge community celebration, to come out to our first community planning meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 16, at 5 p.m. in the Maricopa High School Library.

Over the past several years this town has united and really shown what hometown pride means. Amazing things have happened as a result of this. School spirit is contagious and we now have families, students, teachers, future Rams, community members and city leaders all coming together as one to celebrate our Rams!

Let’s get ready to pack those stands for Friday Night Lights and continue with the school spirit all year long. This is not just about football – it is about the band, the students, teachers, clubs, all sports and even our future Rams! We may be a small town, but we have a big heart and plenty of Ram Pride! Now is the time to start stocking up on your red, black and white gear and get those creative juices flowing!

We look forward to planning a Ramtastic celebration for the community. All hands on deck is what is needed to help pull this off. We’ll see you at our first meeting!
