Harrah’s and Walgreens offering free wellness tour this week

Wonder how your blood pressure is? How about your cholesterol levels? Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino Resort and Walgreens are partnering to provide answers to those questions and more during their wellness tour Thursday and Friday.

The ‘tour’ will offer free health screenings for resort employees, as well as members of both the Ak-Chin and Maricopa communities. Screenings will include:  total cholesterol levels, blood pressure, bone density, glucose levels, waist circumference and body mass index. This menu of screenings is a more than $140 value.

Staffed by Walgreens’ trained technicians, Thursday’s event will be held at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Event Center (in the parking lot north of the entrance), 15406 Maricopa Rd., from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Friday the screenings will be done at the Walgreens located at 21274 N. John Wayne Parkway from noon to 6 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public, age 18 and over. No appointments are necessary.

A one-year AARP membership will be given to all adults receiving screenings, and those under age 50 can pass theirs along to an eligible adult. Already an AARP member?  You will receive a one-year membership extension.
