La Party Zone closes

Maricopa business La Party Zone has packed up and moved out.

The store, located in the Maricopa Business Center, opened in June 2008 by former Arizona Rattlers player Herb Duncan and his wife, Elena.

The couple moved to Maricopa nearly two years ago and said when they opened the business, they were doing so because there was a need in Maricopa for party supplies.

Neither of the two owners have returned multiple calls regarding the status of their business, however, the owner of the plaza in which they lease, Jared Pope, said he is aware they left but is not sure why.

Duncan is also listed as a part-owner of Mando’s Mexican Food that recently opened in the Bashas’ shopping center.
