Maricopa leaders and residents will celebrate the grand opening of the city’s first neighborhood park today.

At the southest corner of West Lexington and North Roosevelt avenues in the Heritage District, the new Lexington Park includes grass, trees, benches and a pet station.

Community leaders will gather at the park at 5:30 p.m. for a brief ceremony. Mayor Christian Price and City Manager Brenda Fischer are scheduled to speak. Members of the Heritage District and the Parks, Recreation and Libraries Advisory Committee will attend. Maricopa councilmembers and city staff will also be present, in addition to neighborhood residents.

Anyone is welcome to attend.
