A man was arrested and charged Wednesday after allegedly driving past a home multiple times, honking, yelling obscenities and sending threatening text messages.

At about 9:30 a.m., Maricopa police responded to a home in Glennwilde on a report of a disturbance.

According to a probable cause statement, a man, later identified as Tyler J. Collins, 18, had allegedly drove circles through the neighborhood on North Falcon Lane in Glennwilde, while yelling obscenities out of his vehicle and honking the horn.

A reporting party said he was in his backyard when he was disturbed by the yelling and honking. He provided police with a video of the vehicle passing the home twice and identified the driver as Collins.

According to Maricopa Police, a second reporting party from the same home later told officers Collins had come to his house, and that he and Collins had previously had a feud over a girlfriend. The second reporting party provided police with text messages from Collins with threats to his family if he did not exit the home to fight.

The second reporting party told Collins his family was not home. Collins reportedly threatened the reporting party’s roommate’s family members. The second reporting party added that he had Collins’ phone number blocked, and he believed he was texting with his mom’s phone.

According to the probable cause statement, Collins reportedly said he had a Glock in one of his texts, which worried the second reporting party of the possibility of a driveby shooting.

Police spoke with Collins, who they say admitted to driving to the Glennwilde home, honking and yelling out of his vehicle.

Collins also admitted to sending the text messages, according to Maricopa police. Collins said he was fearful of one of the reporting parties, which is why he invited the reporting party to his house to fight in one of the text messages.

According to Maricopa Police, Collins said his efforts were to establish the exact residence for the reporting party so they could be arrested for a prior assault.

Tyler J. Collins was arrested at 4 p.m. at a residence on West Cypress Lane in Desert Cedars. He was booked into Pinal County jail on charges of suspicion of disorderly conduct and two counts of stalking.
