Maricopa Bikes offers bicycle repairs and tune ups

Squeaky chain, bent rim or loose brakes, Ryan Padgitt wants to fix whatever ails the consumer’s bicycle.

Maricopa Bikes is Padgitt’s business venture. It is a full-service bike repair and tune-up shop.

“A lot of people have bikes in town, but the closest shop is over 24 miles away,” Padgitt said.

While he doesn’t currently have a storefront for his business, Padgitt is operating out of his home. He also makes house calls when necessary.

“The majority of repairs can be made in under an hour’s time, but, on occasion, I will have to keep the bike overnight,” Padgitt said.

Most of the work Padgitt does on bikes in Maricopa is either in the evenings or on weekends because he currently works for a bike shop in the Valley. “I hope one day that this will grow into a full-fledged bike repair shop, and I will be able to leave my other job,” Padgitt said.
