Maricopa Book Club meeting twice in January

21

The Maricopa Book Club will be meeting twice in January because of the Christmas holiday.

On Jan. 7 the group will discuss “Guns, Germs and Steel,” an account of the origins and developments of human societies on different continents. The book depicts how the modern world was formed, providing lessons for our own future.

Meeting for the second time on Jan. 28, the Maricopa Book Club will be discussing “Going Back to Bisbee,” a memoir about the local history and beauty of the Southwestern deserts.

The group meets the fourth Monday of each month at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited to join members to discuss the current book and select next month’s book.

Call Gerry Ryan at (520) 568-3591 for more information and directions to her home in Rancho El Dorado.
