Maricopa Chamber has new vice-president

In August former Maricopa Chamber of Commerce Vice-President Jake Romero turned in his resignation papers, unable to fulfill his commitment due to a new job in the Valley.

“It is a difficult decision, but I have truly enjoyed serving on the Chamber and have no doubt that the Chamber will be successful in its future endeavors,” Romero said.

The board accepted his resignation and appointed local realtor Bill Wasowicz, a Chamber member for four years, to take his place.

Before his appointment as vice-president, Wasowicz was serving on the Chamber’s board of directors. Even though he is the vice-president now doesn’t mean he will retain the position.

The board selects leadership positions on the Chamber, and they have an election scheduled for November.

“I will be the vice-president for about four months, and we will see what happens after that,” Wasowicz said.
