Elections are coming up. The Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, September 12, with the General Election slated for Tuesday, November 7. You must have registered to vote by August 14 for the Primary Election and by October 9, 2006, for the General Election.

If you have not yet registered to vote in Pinal County for this year’s General Election, you can do so in one of the following ways:

    Register online at www.servicearizona.com.

Pick up a voter registration form at Maricopa’s City Hall.

Call the Pinal County Recorder’s Office at (520) 866-7101 to have a form mailed to you.

It is important that Maricopians vote; it is also essential that they know where their polling places are located. The Justice Court will no longer be a voting precinct in Maricopa. For those Maricopa residents registered to vote in Pinal County, the new voting precinct locations are as follows:

Precinct 30: First Baptist Church, 18075 N. John Wayne Parkway
Precinct 73: Santa Rosa Elementary School, 21400 N. Santa Rosa Drive
Precinct 74: Pima Butte Elementary School, 42202 W. Rancho El Dorado Parkway

    Maricopa’s three voting areas–precincts 30, 73 and 74.

According to the Pinal County Elections Department, the boundary between Precincts 74 (Pima Butte) and 73 (Santa Rosa) is the wash area that runs through Rancho El Dorado. Residents living on the west side of the wash will vote at Pima Butte Elementary School. Maricopians residing on the east side of the same wash area will vote at Santa Rosa Elementary School. “Precinct 30 is everyone else,” according to a county staff member.

If you are unsure of your precinct, or for additional information, please contact the Pinal County Elections Department at (520) 866-7550 or visit their Web site.

You may request an early ballot from the Pinal County Recorder’s Office at (520) 866-6830 or at that office’s Web site.
