The Maricopa Historical Society is holding its first Historic Golf Tournament on Oct. 16 at The Duke at Rancho El Dorado.
The tournament is being held to raise money for a historical museum and as a kick off to Stage Coach Days, Oct. 21- 22.
Many “first families” in Maricopa have artifacts dating back to the 1800s that the society would like to showcase. The city has a rich history in farming, the railroad and the stagecoach.
“I hope the community will pull together helping the Maricopa Historical Society build a museum for visitors, school kids and residents to know and see their history,” said Brenda Hermanson, historical society board member and fundraising chair.
