Maricopa man allegedly head-butts wife during quarrel

A 49-year-old Maricopa man accused of head-butting his wife faces domestic violence charges of disorderly conduct and assault.

Maricopa police arrested Michael R. Strachan, who lives on West Parkhill Court after they responded to a call Saturday.

Officers said they found Strachan’s wife in a car in the driveway with blood on her face and a gash on the bridge of her nose. She told officers she had gotten into a fight with Strachan and he head-butted her around 8 p.m. She was treated by medics at the scene and was not transported for further care.

Officers entered the home and took Strachan into custody.

He told officers he had been drinking. His wife said she took his gun away from him because he was inebriated.

Disorderly conduct and assault each carry a prison sentence of six months in prison and fines up to $2,500.
