Maricopa resident Freddie Duran was happy to pose with Carlos Santana recently.
Santana visited Maria Maria, the Santana-themed restaurant at Tempe Marketplace, before his concert in Phoenix. Duran performs there every Friday evening and has since the restaurant opened in March of this year.
Duran performs at Teakwood Tavern and Grill in Maricopa every Wednesday night from 8-11 p.m. He has performed with his band, the Freddie Duran Plan, for all but one Salsa Festival and Founders Day since the events’ inceptions.
“On New Year’s Day, I will have been here in Maricopa for five years. I was here ”BS’ or Before Stoplight,” Duran quipped.
