Maricopa supports fundraiser to help cure breast cancer

Our weekend event to help us raise enough funds to participate in the upcoming Three-Day Walk for breast cancer was awesome!

Many of my friends came out to Cucina Olive Oils in Chandler to buy olive oils, participate in the raffle and vote on Acacia’s hair color. For those who don’t recall, my daughter agreed to color her hair based on tickets sold stating a particular preference (see “Raffle, hair color ticket sales and more to benefit 3-day walk participant on Saturday”)

We were there from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and not only did I learn all kinds of neat things to do with olive oils and balsamic, it was great to see so many people from Maricopa support the cause.

So when it was all said and done, between the raffle and hair color voting, we raised $456. Cucina donated $200 as a portion of their sales that day for a grand total of $656.

We were very pleased.

Thanks to all who have been supportive of my efforts and my daughter’s efforts to raise money to fight breast cancer.
