A City Council meeting, the middle school band concert and the second annual Province Arts and Crafts Fair are all scheduled for Maricopa this week.

Monday, Nov. 5:

Tuesday, Nov. 6:

Maricopa City Council meets at the Global Water facility for a work session at 6 p.m. followed by the regular meeting at 7 p.m.

The Friends of the Maricopa Community Library’s weekly Coffee on the Porch will be held this morning from 9:30 – 11:30 at the library.

New Life Pregnancy Center offers free parenting classes on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., during their regular weekly office hours. To schedule an appointment, call (520) 568-0612. Lessons cover prenatal care through the teen years.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 19235 W. Gunsmoke Road every Tuesday from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Pinal County Board of Supervisors Chairman David Snider will hold his monthly office hours at the Maricopa City Hall, 45145 W. Madison Ave., today from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. To schedule a specific time to meet with the Supervisor, call his office at (520) 836-0003.

Groundbreaking ceremonies for the new elementary school at Glennwilde will be held at 10:30 AM. The site is located on the corner of Adams Way and Porter Road.

Wednesday, Nov. 7:

Late start day at Maricopa Wells Middle School (MWMS). Today is also the school’s Native New Yorker Day with 20 percent off each ticket for mentioning MWMS.

The La Leche League breast-feeding support group meets every third Wednesday of each month at the Villages clubhouse from 10 – 11:30 a.m. For more information, contact Kristin via email.

Thursday, Nov. 8:

Al-Anon meets at 19235 W. Gunsmoke Road every Thursday from 11 a.m. until noon. For more information, contact [email protected].

Friday, Nov. 9:

Alcoholics Anonymous meets at the First Baptist Church of Maricopa, just south of the tracks on John Wayne Parkway, from 7 – 8 p.m.

The MWMS food drive ends this week; however, the school will accept food in the office until Thanksgiving, including a Turkey drive for anyone interested in donating. All food benefits Maricopa families in need.

Saturday, Nov. 10:

The second annual Province Community Arts and Crafts Fair will be held in the Province Town Hall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ceramics, pottery, home décor, glassware, artwork, jewelry, candles, holiday decor and more will be offered for sale. To get there, take Smith-Enke east from SR 347 to Province Parkway; inform the gate that your destination is the crafts fair.
