Maui Wowi’s opening still on hold

Maricopa residents waiting for the Maui Wowi to open may just have to wait a little longer.

The store, which was hoping to be open by now, has encountered financial problems and will not be able to open its doors until a new line of financing can be secured. “We thought we had the approval, and then the market changed,” said the store’s owner and Maricopa resident Amy Hannon.

Hannon added that she believes the community needs a store like Maui Wowi.

Once financing is secured, construction on the smoothie shop can be completed within a month, according to Hannon.

Hannon says she hopes to have the issue resolved within the next couple of months, but there is no date set in stone. She also stressed that the city of Maricopa has been fully supportive in the process.

Once opened, the Maricopa Maui Wowi will be the seventh one in Arizona to offer a full line of smoothie and coffee products.
