My vision for Maricopa

373

Election day is less than one month away. I am sharing my vision for Maricopa because the next decision each voter makes is crucial.

I am the best qualified new candidate and the only one with over two years of preparation, learning, citizen participation and attendance as well as proven committee or board leadership experience. I am ready to take action on the issues.

It’s vitally important to vote for candidates not just because of who they are, but based on solid credentials and what he or she can and will do for Maricopa. My credentials are solid and when I get involved, I get results

My vision for Maricopa is a vibrant, thriving community filled with citizen spirit, pride, and hometown values; a place where people are active and involved because they care. As your council member, I will strive toward building consensus, doing all I can to help Maricopa be a city that has…

· local jobs and employment opportunities maximizing our available, highly educated, experienced workforce and diverse entrepreneurial resources;

· successful small, medium and large businesses, shops and facilities;

· places to eat, meet, play, learn, relax, recreate, hike, bike, skate, bowl, swim, exercise or whatever else you want to do;

· parks, trails, libraries, schools, cultural and community centers for tots to seniors;

· a medical facility or hospital, expanded medical/dental facilities;

· improved modes of transportation, new / paved roads, increased local as well as expanded routes;

· city services in a centrally-located, easily-accessible, state-of-the art center;

· a redevelopment district offering a diverse mixture of homes, shops, historic, cultural and public facilities and open spaces;

· a dedicated building for historical archives, possibly including a tourist center;

· police and fire stations strategically located to provide community-oriented public safety services;

· effective, reasonable codes which serve the greater good;

· well-designed developments with affordable amenities and quality homes;

· reasonable utility rates with exemplary customer service levels;

· permanent places of worship, a cemetery or places of interment;

· events /festivals attracting local, regional and national attendance/attention;

· sustained relationships with the Maricopa Unified School District to help them ensure excellence, a quality education and exemplary outcomes;

· sustained partnerships with local, regional, state and national organizations;

· continued working relationships with our neighboring Indian communities;

· growth, development and improvement;

· affordable taxes and cost of living;

· quality of life for everyone.

I will work hard because I want to keep Maricopa a place people proudly call home.  We’re already there but, like Oliver Twist, I want “more”! As your council member, I will be dedicated to achieving more, much more.
