The city’s new mayor and council members will take their seats after a swearing in ceremony at 7 p.m. that precedes Tuesday’s regular council meeting.

The ceremony will be followed by a brief reception in the foyer.

The new mayor and council’s first order of business will be to discuss the selection of a new vice mayor from among its members. Edward Farrell II is the current vice mayor.

Christian Price will be Maricopa’s new mayor. Price is a financial planner and owner of Pantheon Investments and is vice president of the Maricopa Meadows Homeowners Association.

Marvin Brown is returning to the council for his second four-year term. He moved to Maricopa from Michigan, where he served as director for the state’s poverty and urban investment programs and banking department. He is a member of the Pinal County Crime Victim Compensation Board and the council liaison to the Native American communities.

Bridger Kimball and Leon Potter are newly elected to the council. They join sitting members Farrell and Alan Marchione.

Kimball is co-owner of Caswells, an indoor shooting range and firearms retailer in Mesa. He pledged during his campaign that if elected he will donate his first year’s salary as a councilman.

Potter is program manager for Pinal County’s United Way Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program and owner of Master Tax Advisors.
