Nurse practitioner Josh Hooton has joined the team at the Sun Life Family Health Maricopa Family Practice Office, 44765 W. Hathaway Ave., according to a Sun Life press release.
Hooton earned his Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 2007 from Utah Valley University, Oren, Utah. In 2013, he received his Doctorate of Nursing Practice – Primary Care and Adult/Gerontology from the University of Utah, in Salt Lake City.
A board-certified nurse practitioner, Hooton is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, as well as the American Nursing Association. He joined Sun Life Family Health Center in 2013.
“When I chose to become a nurse practitioner, I knew I wanted to focus on prevention and curative venues which allow for promotion of prevention and healthy outcomes,” Hooton said. “I believe these factors stand to help change the culture of health care by empowering patients with a healthy perception of health care as a whole and empowering their perception of personal health outcomes.”
Born in Redwood City, Calif. Hooton moved to Utah in 1993 and Arizona this year. He said he enjoys the Arizona sun, movies, solving problems and fixing things, remodeling, good food and good conversations.
