Oasis Life Center School offers variety of arts classes

Oasis Life Center School for the Arts is now enrolling for its fall semester. The school offers classes in acting, writing, guitar, orchestra, piano, choir and more.

“I am amazed at the number of classes we are able to offer,” said the school’s director, Carrie Vargas.

Each of these classes runs six weeks, with the first session beginning August 18. Two different types of classes are available for enrollment: group and private.

Vargas started the school this past summer because of the lack of arts classes available in the community.

“There is an immense amount of talent in Maricopa, and I wanted to be able to offer classes so that that people could explore their talents,” Vargas said. With the wide assortment of youth and adult classes at Oasis Life Center School, community members can do that.

One misconception Vargas wants to put to an end is that her classes are faith based. Just because we sublease our space from a church doesn’t mean we are a faith based organization, Vargas said. She added that the program does offer faith-based classes to those interested.
