UPDATE: Postponed: Overnight restrictions on John Wayne Parkway April 3-5

Due to recent weather events, the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has postponed the initial paving work to begin April 3.

As soon as the work has been rescheduled, ADOT will provide an update.

You’ll want to add a little extra time to your evening commutes out of town this week.

Part of John Wayne Parkway will be reduced to one northbound lane for overnight roadwork for several days starting April 3, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Assistant Communications Director Steve Elliott said construction crews will work on paving a new acceleration lane.

“The left newly opened lane will be open and the right two will be closed,” he told InMaricopa. “They are paving the far right lane.”

Northbound traffic will be affected from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. through April 6 between Smith Enke Road and Maricopa city limits. Turn lanes will not be affected.
