Maricopa residents Melissa and Richard Rovner own Puppy Love. Melissa has been in the pet grooming business for almost 17 years, and Richard has been driving a truck fro 16 years, so the most logical thing to do was blend their careers into one.
“We both love animals, and it seemed like a great idea,” Richard said. Through the creation of their new business the couple not only gets to do something they love, but they get to do it together.
The couple’s business, which started in October 2008, is a full-blown mobile pet-grooming unit, featuring an eight by twelve-foot enclosed trailer that contains a water heater, blow dryer and other pet grooming necessities.
“We have all the same stuff as a storefront pet groomer,” Richard said.
With this extensive set up, the couple is able to groom cats and dogs alike. However, they would like to see their business grow to the point where they have five units in the area, grooming more than eight pets per day.
