County health clinics again offering TB testing

Pinal County public health clinics will resume routine TB screening Friday.

A national shortage of Tubersol solution, the solution used to test for the tuberculosis infection, forced several Arizona counties to temporarily halt routine TB testing in April.

Pinal County’s clinics have recovered from the shortage and have sufficient supplies of the testing solution to begin offering routine TB testing again.

Medical caregivers, teachers and child-care workers, as well as some other occupations, require screening for TB.

The Maricopa clinic is at 41600 W. Smith-Enke Road, Suite 15. For a complete list with locations and hours, go to http://1.usa.gov/19Tr1wt.

Routine screening is also available at most urgent-care centers or physicians’ offices.
