Police and fire to play charity basketball game

46

Guns & Hoses is not a cover band for American rock band Guns N’ Roses. It is the name of the basketball competition between local police and firefighters to raise money for domestic violence prevention.

Across the nation, law enforcement officers and fire – rescue personnel work together as part of their sworn duty to protect lives and property. This bond and dedication runs deep and has led to a lifelong commitment of cooperation and perseverance. In light of good-natured fun, and for a worthy cause, Maricopa emergency services groups have banded together to create this charity event.

Tip off is at 7 p.m. April 5 at the Maricopa High School Gymnasium. The event is free; however monetary donations will be accepted. All proceeds will benefit Against Abuse, a domestic violence shelter in Maricopa. Please make checks payable to Against Abuse. CHecks may also be dropped off or mailed to Guns & Hoses, 45145 W. Madison Ave., P.O. Box 610, Maricopa, AZ 85239.
