The Maricopa Police Department released an advisory Monday calling for the public to share any information about a police impersonator.

According to the report, on the evening of Sept. 12 between 6:30 and 7 p.m. in the area between Adams Way and Falcon Lane in Glennwilde, a man driving a white, four-door mid- or full-sized passenger car with horizontal flashing red/blue lights on his dashboard stopped a vehicle driven by a female.

He approached the driver before turning around and drove away from the scene in the opposite direction.

Police say the suspect is a white male in his early- to mid-30s, 5’8” to 5’10” tall with a medium build and short/medium dark brown hair.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black, button-down long sleeve shirt with “POLICE” in yellow block letters on one of the upper arm sleeves, and black Dockers pants. The suspect did not have a gun belt, weapon or badge.
