Maricopa Police Department arrested a man accused of threatening to kill a local business owner Friday night.
Police arrested 50-year-old Anton Krawczyk at Gyro Grill on North John Wayne Parkway after he refused to leave the restaurant or identify himself.
According to a probable cause statement obtained by InMaricopa, it all started when Krawczyk asked a woman if he could spend the rest of his life with her. She declined and he was asked to leave.
Officers arrived at the Greek food shop just after 8 p.m. and found Krawczyk was “noticeably intoxicated.” He accused an employee of attacking him with a knife.
Cops told Krawczyk they’d arrest him if he failed to ID. He made his choice and was handcuffed moments later.
A customer said Krawczyk approached her as she walked in the door and offered a drunken marriage proposal, to which she “politely declined.”
When the restaurant owner asked Krawczyk to leave, he became irate, according to the police report.
Krawczyk allegedly threatened to murder the owner and he said, “I know where your restaurant is.”
A customer video recorded the incident while hiding in the back of the restaurant.
Police noted Krawczyk was on probation for a reckless driving conviction in Apache Junction last year. Court records show Krawczyk has multiple prior charges for DUI and other traffic infractions.
Krawczyk was booked into the Pinal County jail on four counts of disorderly conduct, threatening, second degree trespassing and failing to provide a truthful name.
He faces two years in jail.
