Crack sealing is scheduled in several Maricopa neighborhoods this month.

The city’s Public Works Department is performing crack sealing across multiple neighborhoods as a part of its annual pavement preservation work.

The roads are selected based on current conditions and necessity of repair.

Crack sealing maintenance is currently scheduled for the following communities:

  1. Glennwilde Groves
  2. Rancho Mirage
  3. Tortosa North
  4. Tortosa South

Additionally, fog or slurry sealing and re-striping is scheduled in the following communities:

  1. Homestead
  2. Glennwilde
  3. Glennwilde Groves
  4. Senita
  5. Rancho Mirage
  6. Sorrento
  7. Tortosa North
  8. Tortosa South

While maintenance is being performed, there will be parking and lane restrictions enforced at the areas of work, according to a city statement today.

The city will provide advanced notices within the neighborhoods prior to beginning each phase of work.

Some neighborhoods have already received an initial crack sealing treatment and will now be followed up with fog sealing and re-striping.

The city could not immediately list which neighborhoods had already been treated at time of publishing. Areas designated in need of repair will receive the initial round of treatment this year which includes crack sealing.

Pavement preservation is necessary to repair and extend the life of the pavement by filling cracks, making repairs and applying various pavement asphalt coatings depending on the condition of the pavement surface.
