An overnight break in at the Secondhand Pages Bookstore at 44480 W. Honeycutt Road resulted in the theft of a computer monitor.

According to owner Jennifer Kacprowicz, the robbery occurred around 1:45 a.m. this morning. The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office was on the scene in minutes and found the front door glass shattered. Inside, a 19-inch computer monitor was missing and some items on the front entrance table were knocked over.

“They didn’t steal any money, the cash register was left behind,” Kacprowicz said. Kacprowicz said that the person or persons threw a rock through the window and used a two-by-four to knock out the rest of the glass. “This is my first business,” Kacprowicz added. “Who steals from a used book store?”

The PCSO went to Kacprowicz’ residence to alert her to the break in after showing up at the business.

“The alarm system went off and the police were here in two minutes,” Kacprowicz said. The PCSO did get the serial number of the computer monitor in the event someone attempts to pawn it. In the meantime, Kacprowicz’s husband brought her a monitor from home to use in the store.

No other businesses in the area were broken into during this robbery.
