Some Wal-Mart tenants confirmed (updated)

When Maricopa residents walk through the doors of the new Wal-Mart this May, they will see a familiar restaurant in the corner: McDonald’s.

The hamburger giant will help to fulfill the hunger of patrons as they bustle from aisle to aisle.

However, it will not only be fast-food that will be awaiting residents when doors open, as the discount store will also be the home of a SmartStyle Family Hair Salon.

SmartStyle is a group of family hair salons located exclusively in Wal-Marts, offering quick, walk-in services.

In addition to the inner tenants, one stand-alone shop has been confirmed for the May opening date.

According to David Merisko of Phoenix Commercial Advisors, the company responsible for leasing in the Wells shopping center, a Walgreens drug store should be opening its doors at the same time.

“The way it is looking now is that Walgreens and Wal-Mart will be ready to open in the same time frame,” he said on Tuesday.
