Tractor Supply employees welcomed curious customers during its soft opening Friday, but its official grand opening date is still set for Jan. 6.

The farm and ranch store will be open 8 a.m.- 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday.

Store Manager Haley Wood was on hand for the soft opening. She said she was looking forward to the grand opening.

“We’re super excited for our grand opening that’s going to happen on Jan. 6,” Wood said.

Planned are several food trucks and different vendors, she said.

The 21,000-square-foot building’s valuation is $3.3 million, city building permit records show. The store can be found adjacent to Walmart in the Maricopa Wells shopping center at the corner of Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway and Shea Way.

Tractor Supply features a main retail building and an equally large outdoor display area, which includes a greenhouse and forage shed.

A staff of 15 is running the operation.

“I could not be happier with the city of Maricopa. I’m not from Maricopa, so it’s really nice to see how friendly and how everybody’s so welcoming to us here,” Wood said. “The team is doing fantastic. We’re ready to help you guys.

Tractor Supply shopper Vince Kane, who has lived in Maricopa nearly 10 years, said he was there to check out the new store earlier today.

“This my type of place,” Kane said. “I love it. That’s why we’re going through all the aisles. And it’s definitely my cup of tea.”
