Vatican’s Father Raniero Cantalamessa to say mass at Our Lady of Grace

Father Raniero Cantalamessa, who has been the official preacher to the Pope and Papal household since 1980, will be celebrating mass at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Maricopa on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at 11 a.m.

Father Marcos C. Velásquez, Pastor, is extending an invitation to all area parishes and Catholics to join in this celebration and historic event.

A reception will be held immediately following the open-air liturgy.

Fr. Cantalamessa is a Franciscan Capuchin Catholic Priest, noted theologian and author. In 1980 Pope John Paul II appointed him preacher to the Papal Household. He still serves in that capacity, preaching weekly sermons during Advent and Lent.

Our Lady of Grace Church is located at 45295 West Honeycutt Avenue, Maricopa (across from Maricopa High School).
