Maricopans who are looking for an alternative to the gym just got it.

Zenergy Fitness, a Phoenix-based business, has been helping East Valley residents stay in top shape since 2005.

In June the company began offering classes in Maricopa.

“There really were no yoga classes in Maricopa, so I decided to start offering them,” said Jenn Rowland, the company’s owner.

Rowland said she loves the Maricopa area because it reminds her of the small town she grew up in.

“The people are just so nice,” she added.

Roland’s company offers both a fitness boot camp in the city and personal training sessions. The boot camp is five days a week for six weeks and costs $285. Classes are an hour long and meet Monday through Friday at Jane Askew Memorial Park in Rancho El Dorado.

Both an early class at 5:15 a.m. and a late class at 7 p.m. are offered. Enrollment in the classes includes nutritional and life training.

Of these five classes, three are interval training and two are yoga training.

“When people hear yoga they think of people just sitting on mats and humming, but it is actually a physically demanding exercise,” Rowland said.

Besides the boot camps the company offers personal in-home training.

The trainers are in Maricopa on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
