Maricopa police arrested and charged a 48-year-old woman early Friday morning in the Senita neighborhood in connection with a suspected domestic violence incident.

According to a probable cause statement, officers responded to a disturbance call at approximately 5:15 a.m. June 23. Maricopa Police Department declined to provide a location. An unidentified man said his ex-wife was in the home, making threats and kicked in a door.

The man showed officers a video of the woman, Joyelle Smith, holding a gun while yelling and threatening the man. In the video, Smith repeatedly kicked a bedroom door, broke part of the door frame and said that she “was going to use the gun on” the man.

Police did not provide a statement from Smith about the incident.

Smith was arrested and booked into Pinal County Jail on domestic violence charges including disorderly conduct, disorderly conduct with a deadly weapon, trespassing, threatening and criminal damage.
