The Arizona Department of Transportation has begun work along John Wayne Parkway to construct a sidewalk on the west side of State Route 347.

The southbound lanes will have a daily right lane closure from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Monday to Friday between Cobblestone Farms Drive and State Route 238.

The work consists of 0.85 miles of sidewalk construction  between milepost 174.6 and 175.4. The project includes retaining walls, safety rail, earthwork, riprap installation, sign relocations, landscape and irrigation replacement.

The $475,922.33 project is expected to be completed in early 2016.

Today, ADOT also corrected a traffic light on the SR 347 beside Panda Express.
