Developer’s confirmed Maricopa’s second Taco Bell is on track for a 2024 opening.
Earlier this year, InMaricopa announced the drive-thru would open its second restaurant at 42080 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway. The first location is on the John Wayne strip near Bashas’.
In October, John Baldwin, owner of the Queen Creek-based Baldwin Development Group, told InMaricopa local Taco Bell lovers wouldn’t need to wait long.
“The anticipated finish date for construction is March,” Baldwin said. “I’m sure opening shortly thereafter, possibly April.”
A building permit was issued in October, and crews broke ground in early November. They continue foundation work.
On Monday, Baldwin reaffirmed construction is still on track.
The city’s second Taco Bell is among several businesses coming to The Wells shopping center, including Cold Stone Creamery, Bosa Donuts, Home Depot and a second Burger King. It will join the newly opened Tractor Supply Co. and Slim Chickens.
Established in 1962, the California-based fast-food chain is one of the biggest in the world, with a strong presence in the U.S. and many other countries. There are more than 180 locations in Arizona.
