The Pinal County Health Department cited three Casa Grande restaurants in February with less than perfect health inspections.

Creative Pastry’z, 1115 E. Florence Blvd., was cited for not placing expiration dates on food products and not correctly separating food items.

Tommy’s Bistro, 913 E. 8th Street, was dinged for improper cooling techniques, and The Gym Bar and Grill, 1601 E. Florence Blvd. was marked down for storing foods at improper temperatures.

For these violations, the restaurants received a score of Satisfactory.

Health inspectors conduct random inspections aimed at ensuring all proper steps are taken to maintain consumer safety, Pinal County officials said. The department can issue violations that are either critical or non-critical. Critical violations must be fixed within 10 days and affect a location’s score. Non-critical violations must be fixed within 90 days.

Grades are based on the number of violations, with an “E” for excellent being the highest possible score. Other scores are “S” for satisfactory, “U” for unacceptable and “N” for needs improvement.

Casa Grande restaurants receiving perfect scores in February were Taco Bell/Long John Silvers, 1729 E. Florence Blvd.; Rubios Fresh Mexican Grill, 844 N. Promenade Parkway; Sonic Drive-In, 1392 E. Florence Blvd.;  Vaqueros Carne Asada, 601 E. Florence Blvd.;  Rico Donuts, 611 E. Florence Blvd.; Whataburger, 405 E. Florence Blvd.; and Cracker Barrel Restaurant, 2281 E. Florence Blvd.
