More SR 347 lane closures this week as roadwork continues

The six-week project to seal road pavement continues this week on the city’s main traffic artery.

Work will resume Sunday night.

Crews will be at work between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. from Sunday to Thursday on 15-plus miles of the highway between Hathaway Avenue in Maricopa and I-10.

Cholla Pavement of Apache Junction is performing the work.

It will include two phases: crack sealing with an oil-like substance and reapplication of pavement markings, where necessary, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Lane restrictions – both northbound and southbound – will be in place throughout the project. Traffic will be restricted to one lane. Work will be limited to three-mile segments in one direction of travel during each overnight restriction.

ADOT advises drivers to slow down and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while work is underway. Work schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors.
