The city of Maricopa issued six business licenses last week.
Permits are necessary for all businesses headquartered locally or outside of Maricopa to do business within the city limits. Permits are valid for one year.
Five of the companies that took out licenses are located outside of Maricopa and one is local.
The local company pulling a permit was Southwood Pediatric Therapy PLLC. Southwood is set to open this month; it will offer pediatric speech language, physical occupational and sign language therapy and educational services to residents of Maricopa and its surrounding areas. Founded by Sarah Southwood-Evans in response to her own child’s delayed learning, plans are to offer more services in the future.

Companies outside Maricopa receiving permits were SMP Development LLC, Daniel’s Yard Service, Tammy and Chris Fry Bread, Valley Wide Solar and Plumbing LLC and Allsafe Home Inspection LLC.
