It’s just about time for Maricopa’s little boos and ghouls to begin collecting candy.

Because Halloween falls on a Tuesday this year, families might feel a little more inclined to take the kiddos out on the weekend or even a week before the holiday instead.

Luckily, these six trunk-or-treat events around the city will have your little goblins itching to wear their costumes and amass as many sugary treats as they can.

Pacana Park Pumpkin Walk & Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Wednesday, Oct. 25 from 6-8 p.m.
Pacana Park, 19000 N. Porter Rd.

Although not a trunk-or-treat, this city-sponsored tradition does offer trick-or-treating for the little ones. Along with costumes, families are encouraged to bring a decorated pumpkin for a chance to win a super cool prize.

Santa Cruz Ward Halloween Party
Friday, Oct. 27 from 6-8 p.m.
The Church of Latter-Day Saints, 37280 W. Bowlin Rd.

The trunk-or-treat event starts at 7 p.m., but stop by earlier for snacks, games and even a pie eating contest.

Little Whiskers Trunk-or-Treat
Saturday, Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Earthwise Pet Supply, 20924 N. John Wayne Pkwy.

This trunk-or-treat will have your family feline fine with the candy, cake walk and kitties. Little Whiskers Animal Rescue is hosting this daytime event for families looking to show off costumes and possibly adopt a pet to take home.

Maricopa Pantry’s Trunk-or-Treat Car Show
Saturday, Oct. 28 from 12-5 p.m.
Raceway Bar & Grill, 19237 W. Papago Rd.

Now in its fourth year, Maricopa Pantry will host its annual trunk-or-treat car show that doubles as a fundraiser for the food pantry. Cars arrive as early as 7 a.m., followed by the trunk-or-treat at 12 p.m. and Halloween food and drink specials through the day. Car owners interested in participating can contact Raceway Bar and Grill at 520-568-0808.

Molly’s House of Little Feet Trunk-or-Treat
Saturday, Oct. 28 from 5-7 p.m.
Molly’s House of Little Feet, 16540 N. Porter Rd.

Candy, costumes and food — what more could you ask for in a late afternoon trunk-or-treat? The preschool will host its own sunset trunk-or-treat for your mini goblins. Volunteers looking to host a trunk can register via email at [email protected].

Halloween Spooktacular Car Show 2
Sunday, Oct. 29 from 8-11 a.m.
Maricopa Veterans Center, 41614 W. Smith-Enke Rd.

The little ones will love the combination of cars and candy at this morning trunk-or-treat fundraiser. Hosted by the Sons of the American Legion Post 133, organizers will also collect canned food donations and host a raffle to support veterans. To register your vehicle, contact SAL Commander Mike Kerr at [email protected] or 480-776-6913.
