Applicants needed for Parks and Rec advisory committee

42

Do you have a desire to give back to the community while providing important input affecting city decisions? Then you may be interested in applying to serve on the City of Maricopa Parks, Recreation and Libraries Advisory Committee.

The committee is comprised of seven community representatives and is responsible for aiding in the development of quality parks and recreation programs, identifying community recreational needs, recommendation on fees, policies and procedures and assisting in general park design. Recommendations from the committee are made to staff and council for action.

Says committee member Joel Griffin, “I applied because I wanted to get involved and do more for the community – especially the youth in Maricopa – and I believe that you can’t complain if you are just sitting on the sidelines.” He has been able to be involved in a number of important projects as part of the committee, such as providing input during the development of the Parks, Trails, and Open Space Plan.

Currently, there are three open seats on the committee. Applications will be accepted through April 2. Click here to download the application form.
