Bounce house rental company all about kids

“How much?”

When Maricopa resident David Martinez was given a quote on a bouncer rental for his sons’ birthday party in New Mexico, that’s all he could manage to say.

The boys, ages 10 and 8, were born just six days apart so they often have a joint party.

“I just wanted to give them a birthday party they wouldn’t forget, but the price I was quoted is one that I will never forget,” Martinez said.

The price was $300 to rent an inflatable slide for four hours.

“How can someone charge so much for something that is supposed to be for the children?” Martinez asked.

It was because of this high-priced quote that Martinez and his wife Christie decided to start an affordable party rental store in Maricopa. CRUM Party and Play Jumpers opened in September 2008.

“We just wanted to create a business that was designed to benefit the kids,” said Martinez. Prices on rentals range from $75 to $200 a day, and include set up and tear down.

Currently, the business features two bouncers, a water slide and a Scooby Doo playhouse, but a partnership with a Casa Grande party rental store allows Martinez to get customers almost any inflatable party bouncer they desire.

“I can usually get last minute rentals, but a few days advanced warning is best,” Martinez said.
