Sad news for Caniacs — this chicken finger shop has no plans to open a Maricopa location.

The Baton Rouge, La.-based company was mentioned during a State of the City address in Maricopa in October 2019. More than 300 InMaricopa readers took to Facebook voicing excitement over the prospect of a location here in town.

If you’re in the mood for a Box Combo, you’d better be willing to commute to the Valley or Casa Grande for a box of chicken fingers, with sides of coleslaw, crinkle-cut fries and Texas toast.

“We don’t currently have plans for Maricopa, AZ at this time,” a Raising Canes spokesperson told InMaricopa Monday morning.

Raising Canes currently operates 37 locations in Arizona and 731 nationwide.
