Census forms are in the mail

45

Make sure to check your mailboxes this week – you should find a 2010 Census form there. It takes 10 minutes or less to complete, and it is important.

Remember, for every person NOT counted in Maricopa, the community could lose over $1,600 in funding, so please do your part and complete and return your form by April 1.

Census information helps communities like Maricopa form decisions on planning, building new roads, schools, and community facilities and is also a top resource for private investment decisions. Census information is confidential; by law it cannot be shared with local, county or state law enforcement or any other federal agency.

Canadians count, too
The goal of the U.S. Census Bureau is to have a complete count of all people residing in a community. Census officials hope that every resident of Maricopa who receives a form in the mail will complete and return the ten-question form regardless of citizenship.

Citizenship is not a question on the census or a factor of concern. The goal is to have a complete population count no matter where you come from. If you are a Canadian citizen in Maricopa who receives a U.S. Census form, complete it so you, too, can be counted.
