Chamber receives three national achievement awards

The Maricopa Chamber of Commerce is the recipient of three national awards for chambers of its size from the American Chamber of Commerce Executives.

The American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) is a national association serving individuals involved in the management of chambers of all sizes. Its mission is to support and develop chamber professionals to lead businesses and their communities.

ACCE surveys its members each year, asking questions regarding chamber growth and operations. Based on those results, the Maricopa Chamber of Commerce ranked in the top ten chambers of its size nationally in the following categories for 2007:

· Number of New Members
· Member Retention
· New Member Dollars

According to the ACCE, “Membership is at the heart of the chamber. The Membership Achievement Awards (MAA) recognize the outstanding work of chambers in the area of membership.”

Executive Director of the Maricopa Chamber of Commerce Terri Kingery said, “I did not even know we were getting these awards until they showed up in the mail.” She thanked local Chamber members, saying, “It is only through your support that we were able to receive these awards!”

Awards are presented in July each year to the top ten chambers in their respective dues income category.
